This was written with a view to giving voice to the loneliness felt when a friend moves away. Although no mention is given to who the ‘friend’ is, the idea was that it could be the family dog who went missing for a while!.
A steady, medium paced pop song. Attractive, syncopated figure brings in the verses. An 8 bar bridge in the relative minor gives legato relief and sets the song into its conclusion.
