Song Description

The central figure in the Ancient Egypt syllabus. The lyric is kept simple and includes key elements of facts about King Tutankhamun.

Musical Description

In E minor, 4/4 time. A steady verse / chorus format with some classic Eastern semitone ornaments to give it an Egyptian flavour The chorus lifts into the relative major to give the piece some welcome exhuberance, culminating in dominant B7th to bring it back to E minor for the verse. You can ask the children to count 1,2,3,4 right at the end, before the final, shouted “mask”!
