A mixture of realities and ideals. Arne wrote this as part of a suite of songs embracing environmental issues. The song is reflective and gives ample room for discussion on how we might look after our planet better than we do.
A lovely way to get used to 2 time signatures. Oscillating between 3/4 in the verse and 4/4 in the chorus, it’s a gentle, reflective piece written in G major. The enigmatic conclusion on the sub-dominant adds to the atmosphere. The 4/4 introduction sets the scene with a broad chord sequence. There is a two-part vocal proposition which may or may not be employed, depending on the abilities of the class.
