Grandpa Blue is an enigmatic collection of illustrations and verse. It’s an audio / visual fantasy tale embracing the seasons. The work may be used as individual songs or as a collection of five songs, one of which is about Grandpa Blue himself.
The songs allow for a completely fresh approach to exploring the seasons. The unconventional tack is in the tradition of Dr. Zeuss and Roald Dahl combined with a timeless genre of music akin to ‘The Snowman’.
Kate Lewis Smith has beautifully employed simplicity and imagination to give our youngest pupils the opportunity to engage in tasteful and emotive songs well within their scope of learning. Textures and formats are both diverse and easily grasped.
